SIIIX Vol. 3 is out now. For this third edition of the ongoing collaborative series, HIIIT brings together another group of forward-thinking artists working across the experimental electronic music landscape: Jung An Tagen, 33EMYBW, Slikback, Konduku, Toumba and Lemna.
SIIIX is a project that opens up HIIIT’s extensive archive of percussion recordings to artists exploring the boundaries of electronic music. Curated by HIIIT member Frank Wienk (Binkbeats), each collaboration evolves through a process in which newly recorded, track-specific percussion becomes an integral part of the composition. Rather than a collection of remixes, the result is a series of artistic encounters in which acoustic and electronic sonic worlds continuously shape one another.
Across SIIIX Vol. 3, a wide musical spectrum unfolds: from the iron-weighted intensity of Jung An Tagen’s Jaw and the disorienting energy of 33EMYBW’s The Disorientation of Dagobert, through the uncompromising force of Slikback’s Anvil, to the incantatory sound world of Lemna’s Waltz Of The Fossils, the glacial, hypnotic textures of Konduku’s Başıboş, and the propulsive rhythms of Toumba’s Amwaj. Each composition follows its own distinct musical logic while remaining rooted in the same shared source material.
More than a compilation, SIIIX Vol. 3 documents an ongoing process of artistic exchange, in which percussion is continuously reinterpreted, transformed and placed into new contexts.
SIIIX Vol. 3 is now available on all major streaming platforms and on Bandcamp.
